As you all know this year we asked the farmers who own Kerrygold to film their own ad. The resulting footage we got back from the farmers was amazing. The farmers were up from dawn to dusk in rain and snow capturing sunrises, sunsets, calves being born and fed, their children enjoying farm life and their general daily routines.
We ended up with 29 hours of footage in the first week alone. The main challenge for us was trying to cut it down into a 30 second ad, to capture all that we had seen and get the key messages of passion, warmth, pride, community and dedication in a short TV ad.
Additionally after the farmers had filmed the ad, a group of us went to meet each farmer to find out more about them so we could give you a deeper look into the life of the Kerrygold farmers and their families. We asked each farmer his opinions on being a farmer, to share his typical day, tell us about his favourite family recipes and hear his thoughts about being in the cooperative.
You will see that a lot of this information is on the website for you to read in the Meet the Farmers section
Between the 29 hours of footage the farmers filmed and our interview tapes, we have so much film we would like to share with you. Above is a short video montage that shows you some snippets from our interviews alongside some of the original farmer footage that did not make the advert.
