We asked Pat to explain what he thought the benefits of being in a farmers’ cooperative were. Here’s what he said:

"Being part of a cooperative is a huge help, as it means there is always a market for the milk we produce. If we choose to, we can purchase our materials, such as feed and fertiliser from the cooperative at a reduced price - which is obviously a benefit!

Working as part of a cooperative is a great way of sharing ideas with the other local farmers and learning from each other, as we all meet up once a month to discuss our farms and help each other out. It really does feel as though we are working as a team.”
